It feels great to be almost to the end of class. Just getting the lesson plan turned in and presented was a load off of my chest. I do feel better able to write lesson plans after this class. It is amazing to  be in the teacher program and on my way to getting my degree and be able to teach in an elementary classroom.

Class has been getting less informative from the education standpoint but informative in the sense of sharing our thoughts and ideas through our lesson plans. Thank you to those of you that support each and every one of us as we get more comfortable in sharing our own thoughts and ideas. It is just the beginning for some of us while others of you are well on your way to being graduates of Columbia College, congratulations to you!

You all had some great lesson plan ideas and I wish I could be a fly on the wall as you all get to teach the lessons you prepared to a group of students in the future. It is amazing how time flies and you will be there before you know it.

I also really enjoyed the websites from the second discussion question. I don't plan to teach at the middle school level but it was an interesting website, the second was motivational and the first was a wealth of information that I plan on checking out further in the future. This class has been a blast! This is our last blog and I have enjoyed the blogs we post so much more than the discussion questions typical of classes.

The take away that I have for tonight are the first blog on the second discussion question that we had. I find it informative and plan to use it. The second take away I have is that there could be more tests for us all in the future after college. I also will remember the fairy tale lesson plan that is going to be an amazing presentation! You all did wonderful and should be proud of what you have accomplished!

Good Luck!!

  1. I forgot the question sorry. So my question for you is what would you say was the most important piece of information you received from this class?

  2. I love your pictures! I think making the whole unit helped me the most. The questions seemed to help me think a lot deeper than I have before because they weren't just random questions they were the blooms questions ! It was great having you in class. Sadly but happily for me haha I won't have anymore classes with you! But I wish you all the luck. You will be a wonderful teacher some day soon! :)

  3. Love your pictures! Especially the last one... too cute. Your post made me think about how lucky we are that we are at Columbia College and that this school makes sure we are all going to be amazing teachers. I feel so much more confident after each and every class that I check off my list. We practice writing so many lesson plans and I love that we shared some of our lesson plans in this class. I'm always curious as to what other people are doing with their unit plans, so I was happy to have the opportunity to hear others' ideas and write down some of your amazing lesson ideas!

  4. I love your last picture! It is true, all your work and time will be worth it! Writing lesson plans takes a while in getting used to, but after a while, it becomes easier. It is good practice for those schools that do require all teacher to submit their lessons (not all schools do just an fyi). And I think what I got out of the class is planning language arts lessons with engaging strategies. There were several we talked about during class, but there were a few that were mentioned last week's class, that I had not heard of.

  5. I don't think there was one important piece to take away from this class but instead a bunch of little things that are important. This was one of my favorite classes because of all the useful bits of information that I will actually use in my future classrooms. Good luck to you. :)
